cashback programme for brands

The advantages of Kalder’s cashback programmes

Kalder raised US$7 million in a seed round for a total of US$10.5 million. The funds will go to develop a platform that helps brands launch their own cashback programmes.
Turkish company Kalder offers a solution that automates the process of earning rewards for customers. Rewards are awarded after purchases are made in partner stores.
The platform offers several benefits to brands:
– they can run the loyalty system directly in their app or through their website;
– receiving commissions on every purchase made by customers in the partner network;
– the commission process is automatic;
– payments are made on every transaction;
– companies earn additional revenue.
The Kalder platform provides a convenient way to implement a loyalty programme to increase customer loyalty. In addition to automating the rewards process itself, the solution offers analysis and tracking of customer behaviour trends. Kalder takes care of all process management for both brands and their customers. Companies, in turn, gain access to data on shopper spending. The information helps to improve the effectiveness of engagement strategies and to exploit new digital channels.
Kalder founder Gökçe Güven sees his product as innovative. The platform not only increases customer loyalty but also helps companies turn that loyalty into real profits. What makes the solution unique is that loyalty can now become a direct source of revenue for companies. Previously, such benefits were only available in the travel and financial sectors. However, with Kalder, cashback programmes can be used by members in different industries.

Funding round details

Investors recognised the Turkish platform’s potential in the seed funding round. The lead investor was Javelin Venture Partners. 8VC, Human Capital, and Gingerbread Capital also participated in the round. Business angels also invested in the project. Earlier in the round, Kalder raised US$3.5 million. The round was then led by the US fund 500 Startups.
The investors were very positive about the company’s chances of success. Javelin Venture noted that the startup had managed to optimise a complex system of loyalty programmes and monetise them for brands. This has made it profitable for a wider range of companies to run rewards programmes.
Its clients include brands such as Godiva, MILE, Heat.io and the BSC Young Boys sports club. The platform offers a model where 50,000 programme members generate US$450,000 in revenue each month. This amount comes in the form of cashback from sales. In this way, companies can recoup their marketing costs and retain customers.
